Our Mission
The mission of Flint Hills Community Church is to be a loving, worshiping, grace-filled congregation of discipled, maturing Christ followers who are committed to compassionately spreading the gospel, both locally and globally, for the glory of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Statement of Faith
We believe the following:
1
The Bible
We believe that the Bible, Old and New Testament, is inspired, infallible, and the authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It is true in all it affirms and is the believer’s source for faith and practice (2 Peter 1:20-21). The Bible itself speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, and is the final source of all that we believe.

God
We believe in one God (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Timothy 2:5), Creator of all things (Exodus 20:1, Colossians 1:14-17), infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:20-23). He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Further, He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father on high (Acts 2:32-33). He is now our high Priest and Advocate (Hebrews 4:14, Hebrews 7:25, 1 John 2:1).

Holy Spirit
We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit is necessary for one to be brought into a state of justification with God. The Spirit indwells those who have received Christ for the purpose of enabling them to live righteous and godly lives (Romans 8:9, Titus 3:4-7, Galatians 5:22-26).

Human Condition
We believe that mankind is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). However, as a result of the entrance of sin into the world (Romans 5:12), and our own sin, we are fallen and powerless to save ourselves (Romans 3:23-24).

Personal Response
We believe that it is necessary for each person to repent and receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in order to be saved (John3:3-6, Romans 10:9-10).

Eternal Destiny
We believe that there will be resurrection of both the the saved and the lost—the one to everlasting life, and the other to everlasting judgement (John 5:24-29, 1 Thessalonians 5:9, Revelation 20:11-15).

Ordinances
We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are however, not to be regarded as a means of salvation (Matthew 3:13-15, Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:4; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25; Ephesians 2:8-10).

The Church
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ on earth and is composed of all such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16), have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:4-7) and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head (1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 27).

The Local Church
We believe that, therefore, only members of the Body of Christ on earth shall be eligible for membership in Flint Hills Community Church.

Congregationalism
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and that every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs (Colossians 1:18).

Christ's Return
We believe in the personal, premillennial, and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this “Blessed Hope” has vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Titus 2:11-14).

Church's Mission
We believe that the mission of the church is the nurture of the Christians and the evangelization of the world (Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 4:11-15).

Sanctity of Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm 139).

Peaceful Interaction
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11). And that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of FHCC.

Gender, Marriage & Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. WE believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. That any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). That in order to preserve the function and integrity of Flint Hills Community Church as a local body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the Flint Hills Community Church members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by FHCC in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this statement on marriage, gender, and sexuality (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22).
What We Believe
Traditionally the people of God have been known as "the people of the book" because we believe God has revealed Himself in the Scriptures. We believe this video offers a clear summary of the overarching story of the Bible, also known as the Gospel.
